About Nolan Construction and Development
After spending twenty years in my family’s business building homes all over the bay area, I decided it was time to step out on my own. Following four major projects, including a 21 unit condo development in San Jose, a 14 unit condo development in San Jose, three single family residences in Mountain View and a five unit attached home development in Sunnyvale, I ventured out to keep the tradition of excellence alive.
The mission of Nolan Construction & Design is to build high quality homes using my 25 years of experience in the Custom Home and multi-family development industry. It is attention to detail that leads to success; no part of the project is left to chance. We feel passionate about our projects and strive to leave a legacy of fine home building behind us. Our company covers every part of the construction process, from the initial design to the final product.
The relationships that we have developed with some of the best contractors in the area allow us to push the limit on quality and explore new horizons when it comes to detail. To us, it is all about approach; we are on the ground in the trenches ensuring that the end result reaches our expectations. Over the years we have seen all types of construction. We started with single family homes, which gave us the knowledge and experience to later develop multi-family units. We understand that in this field, what you build has to stand the test of time. It is our hands-on approach that keeps our business thriving and our clients happy.

Our Process
Nolan Construction and Design offers a complete turnkey solution for your remodeling and building projects. Our fully integrated process anticipates challenges, brings clarity to complexity, and provides for seamless communication among all team members.
Our design, build and self-perform approach means a more efficient project plan, better quality control, lower costs and tighter schedules which results in a project completed with the highest quality and standards with an overall cost and time savings.
Design Development
This is where we work together to determine the style, function and scope of work. A lot of time and effort is put into refining the design concept and details of your project including details regarding appliances, cabinets and finishes.
Finishing
Here is where the project really takes on its final appeal. The interior walls are textured, trimmed and painted, exterior walls are finished and painted, fixtures are installed, doors and windows are installed, floors and countertops receive final finishing.
Exploration & Assessment
Let’s begin with an initial meeting where we discuss your project and ideas. We will send our team out to measure and photograph the existing property and create detailed drawings of existing structures. From here NCD will create a preliminary budget and research city and code compliance requirements.
Building
The process begins with the foundation - repairing or enhancing existing foundations or pouring new foundations as dictated by the construction drawings. This is followed by rough framing, and management and coordination of subcontractors for rough plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation and roofing. Now it’s time for sheetrock, flooring, cabinets, appliances and countertops.
Final Walkthrough & Occupancy
Nolan Construction and Design will walk you through your new home to acquaint you with its features and the operation of various systems. This is the time when a final punch list is created of items that the owner would like to see fixed prior to taking possession of the home. Once all issues are resolved and the final inspection has been passed the home is ready for occupancy. NCD takes such pride in their work that we will check in with you after your first month in your home to make sure everything is going great. Finally, there is a one year service warranty so we will check in again at the one year mark to make sure any final issues are resolved.
